Plus they do phenomenal weddings, and most likely at a much better price than having a wedding in your hometown. Destination Wedding at Sandals Resorts – Your Customizable Beach Wedding
A Sandals destination wedding is a fun way to celebrate with your friends and family or the perfect way to elope or get hitched surrounded by an intimate group of your besties. Destination weddings are so beautiful (when your backdrop is the Caribbean) and perfect for couples with every style and budget.
And speaking of budget, a destination wedding usually costs way less than a wedding ceremony and reception in your own hometown.
What is Sandals Resorts?
Sandals Resorts invented romance travel, so who better to turn to for your destination wedding than Sandals.
Sandals Resorts is a brand of luxury, all-inclusive, adults only resorts in the Caribbean. Sandals has resorts in Grenada, Jamaica (6 beautiful resorts including Sandals Royal Caribbean, one of my favorites), Bahamas, Emerald Bay in Exuma, Grande Antigua, Sandals Barbados and Royal Barbados, St. Lucia (3 resorts – La Toc, Halcyon and Sandals Grande St Lucian) and Royal Curacao, so there are many great destinations to choose from.
Sandals Resorts are designed for two people in love. King beds in every room, 100s of gorgeous suites to choose from, including rooms that have tranquility soaking tubs or come with Sandals Butler Elite service.
Like your Sandals vacation or honeymoon, I can help the wedding couple choose the perfect Sandals for their destination wedding. Or Beaches if you have kids invited – there are Beaches Resorts in Turks and Caicos, Beaches Negril in Jamaica and Beaches Ocho Rios, also in Jamaica.
Wedding Venues at Sandals Resorts
Most all-inclusive resorts have various wedding locations and reception spaces, but at each Sandals there really are so many incredible venues to choose from. Each resort will have multiple gazebos, each resort can accommodate a beach wedding, and a few locations have really special wedding venues (these do come with an extra fee, but they will be way worth it).
There are four Sandals Over the Water Serenity Wedding Chapels. They are located at Sandals Grande St Lucian, Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals South Coast and Sandals Ochi Beach Resort. Catholic ceremonies are available at the over water chapels in Jamaica.
Sandals Royal Barbados has a sky terrace.
Overwater gazebos are available at Sandals Grande St Lucian, Sandals Royal Caribbean, and Sandals Royal Bahamian.
Sandals Resorts also offer two private offshore islands, which serve as the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions. These beautiful private islands are located at Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Royal Bahamian.
Sandals Montego Bay has its own Chapel located in the gardens. This is where guests can have a Catholic Wedding ceremony on property. The local priest will come and perform the ceremony.
How to Plan a Destination Wedding at Sandals Resorts
I am a full service travel advisor, so when I assist with destination wedding planning, I help with all the travel planning. When you contact me to start the planning process, it will go something like this:
- We will meet or schedule a call to go over what you are looking for in a destination wedding. We will talk about your vacation wishes, a bit about what you are envisioning for the ceremony/reception, travel dates, and an approximate budget for your travel and wedding.
- I will put together a proposal, like I would do for a regular vacation, with resort/room options for your stay, and put together wedding info, so you can budget for that piece.
- Once we choose a resort, I work with Sandals to block rooms and make sure a wedding is available for your dates – Sandals only does one wedding at a time!
- The bride and groom then make the small wedding deposit and book their room.
- Then a few things happen – the pre-wedding team will reach out to the couple to start working on the wedding plans.
- The bride and groom will give out a private link to my booking inquiry form so I can assist with booking their stay at Sandals.
- The couple can then relax and enjoy their engagement and get ready for their wedding in paradise! All travel details will be handled by me, and all wedding details by the Sandals wedding team.
- When you arrive on property, you will finalize all wedding details with the on-site wedding team, including cake tastings. Sandals wedding teams are the best – it’s like having the most expensive wedding planner in your town, but their services are included with your wedding.
Are Sandals Weddings Expensive?
Sandals weddings offer very comprehensive wedding packages. Of course there are lots of optional add ons, the sky is really the limit there, but you get so much with their wedding packages.
What can you add to your Sandals Wedding?
The wedding package is just the beginning. There are so many great ways you can customize your Sandals wedding.
Things you can add on include – photo and video packages, upgraded décor, live music, you can upgrade to a twilight ceremony, etc. You can really customize so many things at Sandals Resorts. No two Sandals weddings are alike.
Are Sandals Weddings Legal in the US?
When you plan a destination wedding at Sandals Resorts, you have your choice of a legal or symbolic wedding. This will also vary by destination. For example, at Sandals Royal Curacao, only symbolic weddings are offered, but in Jamaica, you can do a religious, legal or symbolic wedding. When you plan your destination wedding with me, I help navigate all of the options.
Can non-Sandals guests and Kids come to a Sandals Wedding?
It is possible for off property guests to purchase a day pass to attend a Sandals wedding. But of course it’s always more fun when everyone stays at the same resort. There is a requirement that most guests stay at the wedding resort.
Plus if you are planning to have many kids come to your wedding, you should consider doing the wedding at a Beaches resort – the family friendly side of the brand. There are amazing Beaches resorts in Turks and Caicos, Negril and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. As always, I can help you decide which Beaches Resort is best for you.

FREE, not a word you hear often when planning a wedding! But my destination wedding planning services are completely free. At this time, I do not charge a fee for my services, and I get paid by Sandals after your group travels.
I assist guests with their Sandals stay (choosing rooms, giving them all the ins and outs to maximize their vacation time), help with choosing flights, coordinating transfers (which are included in your room cost), and go over insurance options with your guests – so the lucky couple can relax and prep for their big day.
