Stuff I Love, Travel

When taking your next road trip, in addition to packing your luggage, there are certain items you MUST have for your car! Trust me, I know. This winter I drove 2,600 miles  from New York to Florida (on 1/2 of the trip I was the only parent) and just returned from a LONNNGGG ride up to Maine, and back. We even took this show on the international road, driving up to Montreal! Stocking your car with the essentials will keep the kids, and parents happy! So keep reading for my road trip packing list, and be sure to stock the car before you hit the road!

My family loves visiting Orlando!  We are so lucky to have cousins who live there – to hang out with and explore all the city has to offer! In Orlando, we are always looking for new things to do, and I have had my eye on an Aquatica visit for a while.  I was so excited to be invited to check out this water park on my recent Florida trip!

The first week in November, baby girl and I were so fortunate to spend an entire Monday at Aquatica and we are so excited to share all our best Aquatica, Orlando tips with you all!

Momma To Go readers know we love our Lego experiences. So far we have visited Legoland Florida. the Legoland Florida Water park and At the beginning of this summer, we spent a day at the Legoland Discovery Center in Westchester.

On both of our Legoland visits we were able to visit new Ninjago exhibits. In Florida, the Ninjago ride has JUST opened, and it proved to be one of our favorites! At LDC, the giant play area has recently been revamped into a Ninja theme! Modeled after the Temple of Airjitzu, the attraction’s new LEGO® Ninjago City Adventure play structure puts guests’ physical skills to the test with more than 20 interactive features including a vortex spinning barrel, a spiral slide of lights, lightning buzzer bars, crisscross maze, vertical rope climb and more, as they fight to save Ninjago City.

Today we were super excited to return to the Legoland Discovery Center for their LEGO Ninjago Days!

In this house, we love the Lego Brand. We actually just got the Lego Batman Movie DVD (and watched it on a recent car trip) and we were so lucky to have visited Legoland Florida twice this past winter and the Legoland Florida water park in the summer. I do miss my New York family that migrated south to Orlando, but having cousins in Florida does have its perks! So us Lego-lovers were so excited to be invited to revisit the Legoland Discovery Center in Westchester, New York to spend a day riding, building and exploring!

Momma To Go would like to thank Bedell Cellars for hosting hubby and I for wine tasting at Bedell Cellars. As always, all opinions are my own.

I live in a suburb of New York City. We can be in Manhattan in less than an hour train ride. We live about a 10 minute drive to the closest ocean beach. And in less than two hours, we can drive out to the North Fork of Long Island – rich with farms, marinas, and lots and lots of vineyards!

On the East End of Long Island, there are so many wineries and tasting rooms to visit. About three years ago we discovered the best spot for Wine Tasting on Long Island – Bedell Cellars. We had been longing to return, and I was super excited to recently be hosted by Bedell for an afternoon of wine tasting and a behind the scenes tour of their amazing facility.

Little man is about to finish second grade. Word on the street is that third grade is when things start to get real. There is a big jump for the kids in terms of academics, standardized testing and homework. I’ve also heard that third grade is when it is common for kids to start communicating electronically. Sending emails and texts, using iMessenger, stuff like that.

I’m not sure I’m ready for all of this!

My kids currently have wi-fi connected iPads, which they use to play games, watch pre-downloaded movies, and to watch videos on YouTube. We do not allow games that offer the option to play against real people, or communicate with others out in cyberspace. We carefully monitor what they watch on YouTube.
