Despite having been to Italy several times, including studying there for six months in college, I had never been to Venice! On my most recent Italy trip, a few days in Venice was at the top of my must see list. Venice also seemed like the perfect place to visit with the kids. And it did not disappoint, we all had such much fun exploring this unique city and I am so excited to share my top things to do in Venice with Kids.
This summer, our family vacation time was limited to five nights. Yes, just five nights that my kids crazy summer schedules were both free so we could do a little getaway. We decided that a relaxing beach vacation would be perfect for a five night trip, and I had been wanting to experience an Iberostar property. I have sent lots of guests to Iberostar Selection Cancun (and the adults only Coral Tower) so I knew this would be a solid choice. This summer I had to renew my passport, so I knew our end of summer adventure would be a stateside one. Since I’ve planned many Florida Keys trips for lucky clients, I knew I wanted to get down there and explore. This August, we did a split stay between Key West and Hawks Cay on Duck Key, and as always it was an epic adventure. A place we love to travel to is Atlantic City, New Jersey. Yes, this sea-side town is famous for its casinos and nightlife, but we love AC as both a parents-only getaway and a family trip. Since we do often bring kids to Atlantic City we ALWAYS get asked if there is enough family fun to justify a visit. And the answer is a resounding YES – there are so many great things to do in Atlantic City with Kids!
When I was a kid, I had a huge map of the world next to my bed. I used to stare at it for hours and dream of all the faraway places I hoped to visit. Which, if you know me should come as no surprise!
I still love to stare at a map, this time with intentional “where should we go next” wanderlust. During our recent cruise, I actually spent a crazy amount of time with the Holland America cruise view book they left in our stateroom, dreaming of all the sea adventures I hope to take someday (113-day around the world trip anyone?).
I also follow several families, through their websites, who are traveling around the world – with kids in tow. One of the great side effects of being a seasoned traveler, and travel blogger, is that friends and family often ask me to help them plan their trips. We are so lucky to be able to visit Orlando Florida often! My cousin lives there, and her kids are around the same age as mine. They adore each other and we love exploring Orlando together. In the past, we all visited Legoland Florida (twice), Chef Mickey Brunch, the Orlando Eye, Aquatica and the Orlando Crayola Experience. So when planning this recent Florida trip, we were trying to think of something unique to do. My cousin suggested we try an Everglades Airboat Tour and I knew this was something my kids would love! I travel to Cary, North Carolina about four times a year. My grandpa, age 106.5 lives there, as do my two aunts who are some of my favorite people in the world.
