Stuff I Love, Travel

Our family loves Uber. We take it around town, to the airport, or when mom & dad are going out and there will be too much wine involved. It’s an easy, affordable way to ditch the car and have a comfortable ride at your fingertips.

Uber is also a great way to get around a new city! No need to worry about parking or traffic, and no need to navigate an unfamiliar, local, taxi system. The beauty of Uber is you know the price (or at least approximately) when you call the car, eliminating the age-old saga of taxi drivers ripping off tourists.

Back in August, when we travelled to California we took MANY Ubers. Between staying in downtown San Francisco, to wine tasting through the Central Valley, and even ditching the car to get to and from Disneyland in Anaheim. To start, taking Uber was definitely cheaper than renting a car in San Fran. But to save even more money, I discovered a GREAT Uber Money Saving tip, which I am so excited to share with you!

Holidays, Stuff I Love, Travel

Fall is such a fun season! Especially when the weather has been so warm here in the Northeast! The kids are finally back to school and its not so terribly hot! Where I live here on Long Island, fall is such a great time for outdoor activities without the oppressive heat.

I also think fall is a great time for travel (in fact, in the travel industry it’s called the shoulder season – that transitional time between summer travel and winter getaways). In my experience you can get some great deals on trips, and everyone knows this is one of the best times to visit theme parks.

RELATED POST: HOW TO PACK FOR THE SHOULDER (OR TRANSITIONAL SEASON)

I actually do enjoy this time of year, up until January when well, winter. But I do love the fall holidays – Halloween and Thanksgiving, and the coziness of fall food – think squash, apples, and of course pumpkin everything!

So today I am rounding up my best of fall – from  my favorite activities, products, travel and links to some great fall posts that will hopefully inspire your best fall season!

Right now we are definitely in the “Sunday” of the summer. We have less than 20 days of camp, about 4 more weeks until school begins, and I know in other parts of the country, school has started or is about to start. I can’t believe its August already!

July was filled with lots of fun for the Momma To Go Family – a trip to Atlantic City to celebrate the Fourth, many hours spent at the beach and pool, and a great first session of camp! I have somehow managed to keep up this blog by working on it in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. And I am especially thankful for all the great guest posts I have had this month.

Right now we have just shy of 6 weeks until the kids go back to school! In that time, we will be finishing up camp, going on an epic California trip, and finishing up our summer work (okay, starting and finishing our summer assignments!). We also will be doing lots of back to school shopping -new clothes, jackets, shoes for the kids! And maybe some new fall pieces for me as well!

This time of year can be a little pricy, so if you are looking to win a $250 Nordstrom giftcard, keep reading to enter!

June might very well be my favorite month… its finally warm and summery here on Long Island! The kids are done with school and we are definitely in summer mode! If you missed it, definitely check out my posts on Must-Have Pool Items and my Beach Essentials, where I give you my best gear and tips for my two favorite summer activities!

This month started with a trip – baby girl and I went to North Carolina, our second home. I’m hoping to get my best of the Raleigh post up soon! I’ve also been hosting some guest bloggers, and their posts have been insanely popular! I love reading, editing and curating content. I also was interviewed by Corey from Fifi+Hop about my month long Hawaiian adventure.

But on to my June Stuff I Love! This month I have three great outdoor things that I am totally loving! Happy almost 4th of July, and happy summer!

May has been a crazy month, I’ve been working a lot, blogging a lot and I finally seem to be settling into a better posting schedule for this site. I’ve posted not ONE, but TWO sponsored posts (Kids Email and Tips for Effective Project Management). I also had my first sponsored travel opportunity when hubby and I visited Bedell Cellars a couple of weeks ago.

Wow, May was crazy!

But I did have time to find a few new things I am digging this May. Here is my May Stuff I love list.

Happy May everyone! The end of April has me super excited because I hit OVER 1500 page views for the month, way exceeding my goal of 1000! Almost doubling my March numbers! I have been putting in a lot more time to my site and am super proud of some of my April posts such as A Day in Verona, the Best Big Island Beaches and a review of our trip to The Museum of Mathematics! I also wrote my first guest post for 101 Food Travel, an article about the amazing cooking class we took in Northern Italy. You can read that here.

So I guess my favorite thing this month was my readers (that’s you!) but I still have an actual list of Stuff I have been loving this month.

Spring is here and March was a great month! I went to North Carolina for a long weekend to celebrate Grandpa’s 105th birthday, and then spent a week in Italy to ring in my 40th. Little man turned 8 and well, spring in the air!

Even though I hate winter, I kinda secretly love February. Its always a fun month with a lot of activities and this year, a two week trip to Florida! And I don’t know if because February is shorter, but it always seems to go fast! Plus, the end of February signifies that spring is around the corner! In this busy month, here is some stuff I am loving!

I can’t believe its time for another Stuff I Love post! January has graced us with pretty mild winter weather here in the North East. No complaints about that! Baby girl and I spent five days in Orlando, which was super fun! I’m continuing to train for a half-marathon coming up next month. And I started a more consistent schedule of working one day a week – need to write more about that, its been awesome! And I have picked up some more tutoring students as the kids approached midterms and standardized tests are getting under way!

And I have certainly loved all of that! But on to the good stuff… my January 2017 Stuff I Love.
